B.F.A. Ohio University
M.S. Bank Street College/Parson's School of Design

"Middle school has been a joy to work in over these last years. The professional literature and educational theory and practices are exciting and make me think about what and why I do as I do. I have tremendous respect for the work of and the challenges the Middle School person deals with every day. I look forward to how students respond and work.

Lake Ridge has developed and used an honest, clear, and thoughtful approach toward the education of young people. I have never felt that the work done here is anything but the best we can do, and directed in the most appropriate way with our mission."

Byron enjoys painting and drawing and also finds technology and visual applications fascinating. He has illustrated A Place on the Glacial Till : Time, Land, and Nature Within an American Town and the latest project was The Strange World of Quantum Mechanics, using Photoshop. His hobbies are woodworking and running.

In collaboration with two middle school Lake Ridge students, they completed a sculpture that the United States Equetrian Association will use over the next 25 years as a trophy and is placed in the Equestrian Hall of Fame
