"I love teaching LRA students and I find
bantering with them to be highly energizing. I enjoy figuring
out how to break down a concept or skill into simple, easy-to-learn
steps and I am gratified by the improvement in student writing
through conferences with them. We have so many opportunities
for spontaneous, hands-on learning at LRA, such as the mock
elections held during the fall of 2000. Our students faced
the challenges of voting with punch-card ballots. As a result,
they were able to relate to the election controversy."
Teresa took a playwriting course at Cleveland
State University that she says was "life changing!"
because it reminded her that writing is both a process and
product. And her products have been highly honored! Chosen
from more than 350 one-act plays, Teresa's entry, Veil
of Truth, was one of 33 semi-finalist plays included in
the 7th Annual 15-Minute Play Festival in New York City. This
festival included original one-acts by playwrights from Toronto,
Canada and London, England as well as eleven states throughout
the USA. Teresa was also one of five finalists in a one-act
play competition sponsored by the Association of Theater in
Higher Education. She has acted in productions at Lakewood's
Beck Center and last spring she won Best Actress at Workshop
Players in Amherst.
