"I was attracted to Lake
Ridge because of the caring faculty. They
focus their attention on students, give extra time during
study periods, cheer on students at basketball games, or
stay up late at night sewing costumes for the musical. What
a welcoming community Lake Ridge is! A student finds it easy
to join in, especially when you are
one of ten or twelve in an advisory class. We also encourage
connection among the students with cross-grade groups. Our
community is a small, caring place to be a student. Socrates
once said that true learning is the kindling of a flame,
not the filling of a vessel. This aptly
describes our approach to education throughout the school."
