Kindergarten

Kindergarten is one of the most important steps in your child's overall educational journey. At Lake Ridge Academy, our kindergarten program is designed to make this first school experience for your child one of positive growth, discovery, and enjoyment that initiates their lifetime love of learning.

Lake Ridge Academy students of all ages are known for their ability to be conceptual and critical thinkers, which are the core skills sought by leading colleges and the workforce. The development of this type of thought process begins in kindergarten through play-based learning, which is still at the heart of our kindergarten curriculum. Children are active learners who construct knowledge through physical, social, and cultural experiences, so we provide a broad range of instructional strategies and materials to engage students in the Lower School. Our kindergartners find the curriculum to be exciting and fun, but they are really gaining key concepts in mathematics, reading, writing, or the scientific method, while building conceptual and critical thinking skills.

Learning is a complex and interactive process and every child has a unique rate of development. Our environment honors students' interests, prior experiences, and individual needs.
