International Students

At Lake Ridge Academy:

  • We offer a global learning community for students from around the world by accepting academically strong students who seek college preparatory education and acceptance to colleges and universities in the United States.
  • Lake Ridge Academy will issue an I-20 for F-1 Visas to international students who have a strong command of English as a Second Language and who have demonstrated top academic performance in their home schools.
  • A minimum score of 55 on the SLEP test is required, although a score of 60 is recommended.
  • International students can attend Lake Ridge Academy for a semester, one year, or multiple years through graduation, provided students meet all graduation requirements.
  • Host family placements are available.
  • A modified curriculum is offered to international students in Semester 1. Students may take academic courses for credit on a Pass/Fail basis, so as to accommodate language and culture transition during Semester 1.
  • International Student Tutoring services are available in Literature and Social Studies/History courses.
  • International students are required to have health insurance coverage and to provide a recent medical history with complete immunization record.
  • International students must comply with all of Lake Ridge Academy's rules and regulations.
  • Lake Ridge Academy will assume no liability for international students during their time in the United States.
