Congratulations to senior Colin Howell for being recently named a United States Presidential Scholar Candidate and a National Merit Scholarship Finalist.  
On January 22, Lake Ridge Academy’s Middle School students participated in the annual Science & Engineering Fair.  The two-day event included a parent open house which featured guest speaker Kelly Siman from The University of Akron’s Biomimicry Program.  
Lake Ridge Academy is proud to announce the hiring of Tara Bowen as the new varsity girls soccer coach. Ms. Bowen is returning to Lake Ridge Academy after coaching the program from 2008 to 2012 when she led the team to the OHSAA Regional Semi-Finals and achieved a 40-22-7 winning record.

On December 3 and 4, Lake Ridge Academy’s Model UN team competed at the Cleveland Council of World Affairs (CCWA) High School Model UN conference held at Lorain County Community College.    
The 64th Annual Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics conference was held in Cleveland November 5-7, 2014.

Kemper Family Names Future Science and Engineering Building Lake Ridge Academy received a significant gift from John and Betty Kemper, which will help fund the construction of a new science and engineering building and earn its naming rights.  The cornerstone of the school’s 50th Anniversary Campaign, the new building will house the K-12 Center for Scientific Exploration and Research and provide increased laboratory space. 
Lake Ridge Academy is proud to host its fourteenth Diversity Forum, an annual event held for local high school students to discuss cultural diversity as it relates to our community and world.  The ultimate goal of the event is to provide a venue for student voices and produce globally conscious student leaders.  This year’s topic is the Challenge of Global Citizenship in the 21st Century, and will feature keynote speaker Maytha Alhassan,  guest co-host on Al-Jazeera America’s “The Stream” and Middle East conflict contributor to several news sources, including NPR and Huffpost.
