Conference for our Future Entrepreneurs
Friday, February 8, 2008

The Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at Lake Ridge Academy will host the “Conference for our Future Entrepreneurs.” The all-day conference will be held in the Bettcher Convocation. The free event for area high school students is provided in conjunction with the members of Baldwin-Wallace’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and is made possible through the financial support of the Burton D. Morgan Foundation.

This conference will introduce student attendees to the concept of entrepreneurship, the importance of entrepreneurship to Ohio in the 21st Century, and how one goes about becoming an entrepreneur. Keynote speaker, Ray Dalton, the President and CEO of PartsSource, will be joined by seven other area entrepreneurs who will tell their own entrepreneurial journey. A special teacher’s forum will be held in the afternoon to discuss the topic of teaching entrepreneurship to high school students. Interested schools should contact:

OVERVIEW

The Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurial Studies involves students in a new way of doing things and a new way of seeing things. The intent is to tap into that entrepreneurial spirit that lives in us all, and to learn “why the world wags and what wags it.”

The Entrepreneurial Studies Program prepares students for the global market in which they will operate by providing them with an understanding of the concept and theory of economics and business practices. It provides opportunities to learn the basic principles of the free enterprise system, to acquire outstanding leadership and communication skills, and to meet the unique challenges of a rapidly evolving world.

Designed to augment the coursework required for graduation with an extensive exploration of the principles of entrepreneurship, the Program combines extensive coursework with experiential learning through cutting-edge technology and significant community outreach
