The Extended Day Program is a quality after
school program sponsored by Lake Ridge Academy for its students
in kindergarten through grade five. The hours are from 3:30 until
6:00. The program is staffed by qualified, experienced teachers
whose goal is to provide reliable and responsible after school care
in a safe, nurturing family atmosphere. Children enrolled in this
program can look forward to relaxing afternoons with enriching,
pleasurable experiences.
Following their day at school, the children are given
a nutritious snack and have time for play indoors and out with their
friends. They are given a variety of games and projects from which
to choose.
Children participating in Extended Day are often
divided into small groups, according to their ages, to foster social
interaction. Children with daily homework have the opportunity to
complete school assignments with adult guidance and supervision.
The children, together with the staff, occasionally
attend athletic events on campus where they learn the rules of the
games, become interested in sports and develop a sense of school
spirit.
