Middle School Science Fair

The middle school science fair is coming up next week! The middle school students have been working on their science fair projects since September. Each student picks a topic of choice, does the research, locates a method of testing, writes their paper and prepares their 7 to 10 minute presentation. Middle school science teacher, Mrs. Gail Moran says “this project allows for an element of creativity, and gives the kids a chance to see what scientists do every day. It gets them excited about science.”

Next Thursday public viewing hours will start at 1:00pm in the Bettcher Convocation Center where the public will have the opportunity to view the 80 science projects completed by grades 6 through 8. On Friday the students will present their presentations to the judges who will consist of upper school science teachers, upper school AP science and math students, and a few outside judges. After next week the students will have the opportunity to take their projects and participate in the Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair and have the chance to advance to the state competition.
