Lake Ridge Academy Student Athletes Commit to Collegiate Athletic Careers
Nick Nemetz will
be attending Chapman University in California
as a member of their golf team. While at
Lake Ridge Academy,
Nick was an integral part of the golf team; eventually leading them to the
OHSAA state tournament in 2010. This was
the first time any golf team from Lake
Ridge Academy
qualified to compete at the state level. Nick’s consistency, leadership, and often providing the low score of the
day, proved to be crucial contributions to the team’s overall success.
Erin Maldonado is
heading to Capital University in Columbus. Erin will
continue her career on the basketball court while studying pre-law. Erin was a valuable member of the Lake Ridge Academy program for the past two years having
transferred from Berea. Erin is a passionate basketball player who is
involved in AAU competitions and will contribute greatly to the women’s
basketball program at Capital
University.
Stephanie Vukotic is
on her way to attend one of the most storied women’s basketball programs in the
country, Washington
University, winner of
five Division III National Championships. Stephanie will have the opportunity
to play for Nancy Fehey, arguably one of the best coaches in the country while
simultaneously advancing her academic career at the highly respected
university. Although only at Lake Ridge
Academy for one year, Stephanie
helped lead the way to the most successful season in school history
Junior soccer standout, Samantha Potoczak, has verbally committed to Lafayette University. A Division I women’s soccer program,
Lafayette contests in the highly competitive Patriot League where she will play
against soccer powerhouses such as Bucknell, Colgate, and Holy Cross.
