The 2011 competition’s theme was Smarter Energy: Cleaner Planet. Twenty four Lake Ridge Academy students in grades 9-12 competed. Their strong state level competition score enabled Lake Ridge Academy to advance to the national stage. This is where the Lake Ridge Academy team excelled. The national ranking is based on a team’s state score plus an essay. The essay portion requires students to interpret and apply questions to current social and political issues.

The Lake Ridge Academy team, guided by Mrs. Hamper, catapulted to the top of the State of Ohio and ranked 9th in the entire United States for their division. The critical and creative thinking ability of Lake Ridge Academy students is evident through these results. Congratulations!
