2003-2004 School Year
National Merit Success!
Lake Ridge Academy is proud to announce that 5 seniors
from the class of 2004 are named National Merit Scholar semifinalists!
This year's National Merit semi-finalists are Marissa
Slany, Stephanie Kim, Jacob
Wysor, Anna Volk, and Aalap
Narichania. Our Commended Scholars are
Ian Anderson, Keith Rathbone,
and Courtney Flannery. They comprise
20% of the senior class.
More than 1.3 million juniors entered the 2004 National
Merit Program by taking the 2003 Preliminary SAT/National Merit
Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as an initial screen of
program entrants. Our 5 students were selected from 55,626 students
at 886 different schools in the state of Ohio. The semi-finalists
include the highest scoring entrants in each state, who were designated
semi-finalists in numbers proportional to the state's percentage
of the national total of graduation high school seniors.
The 16,000 semi-finalists represent every state
and represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.
They will continue in the competition for more than 8,000 Merit
Scholarship awards.
Our entire Lake Ridge Academy community -- parents,
students, faculty, alumni, and administration -- salutes our seniors
and their outstanding achievements!
