Before and After School Programs

Lake Ridge Academy offers a variety of before and after school programs to help busy families and provide additional enrichment to students.

Before School and Extended Day

Before school, supervised play is available for Lower School students as early as 7:45 am in the Lower School lobby. After school, our Extended Day program is available from 3:30-6:00 pm for Lower School students. It is overseen by experienced Lake Ridge Academy staff and offers free-play, a snack, fun activities, and an opportunity for our older students to complete their homework. The Middle School Homework Lab offers students a quiet time to complete their homework assignments with an experienced teacher available to provide additional support. Parents may register for Extended Day and the Middle School Homework Club as the need arises, and will be invoiced for the use of these programs on a monthly basis.

The Center for Creative Thinkers

The Center for Creative Thinkers (CCT) offers classes in the arts, languages, technology, and sciences that exercise creative and critical thinking skills. Classes are held after school on weekdays and are open to children in kindergarten through grade 12. You do not have to be a Lake Ridge Academy student to participate.

Examples of courses include LEGO Robotics, chess, rocketry, fishing, fitness, outdoor adventure and numerous classes in the arts, including ceramics, theatrical dance, and lessons in voice and various instruments.

The emphasis of CCT is on encouraging the creative process and achieving dynamic results, building community through teamwork, and shaping character through new learning experiences.

Classes are held in the fall, winter and spring and are taught by local professionals and Lake Ridge Academy faculty. Classes are held in various buildings on the Lake Ridge Academy campus. Fees for courses vary by class.
