Success Stories


Lake Ridge Academy enjoyed many successes during the 2007-2008 school year, including the following:

  • Mock Trial State Champions - 13th in the Nation
  • The launch of the Entrepreneurial Studies Program
  • Boys first-ever district championship in soccer
  • Leslie Coleman, Social Studies Department Chair and 8th-grade English teacher, taught English in China during the summer
  • Nathan Kafity was selected for the Genomics project at Hiram College
  • David Radulovich competed with the USA Junior Team in Sporting Clays at the World Championships in England. His team came in second, while he came in first in the junior division and fourth overall
  • Setting school track records in the 200, 400, 1600, and 3200 meter runs and the pole vault competition
  • Winning first and second place in the Lorain County VFW Patriot’s Pen Essay Competition
  • Receiving the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association Award for Team Academic Excellence
  • One senior was awarded a Silver Key Award for a photograph, and was invited to be featured at the National Scholastic Celebration
  • One senior played piano with the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra at Severance Hall


The 2008-2009 school year is off to an equally strong start, including:

  • Late in August, senior Nathan Kafity was named Athlete of the Week by the Cleveland Plain Dealer
