Lake Ridge is an environment defined by a healthy balance and mix of individual and community reflection. There is an important emphasis placed on intellectual curiosity as well as personal moral insight. In every phase of Upper School life, the uniquely inspired faculty and equally thoughtful student body share a commitment to mutual respect and the sustained growth of every person. Our curriculum is an active, student-centered collection of classroom exercises and beyond. The atmosphere is filled with an ongoing dialogue between people who care deeply about one another as they seek something better in themselves each day.

No day at Lake Ridge would be adequately described or complete without recognizing our collective sense of humor and play. There is a kindness that abounds in our school which helps us laugh together and, when appropriate, be serious together. One advantage to this model of learning is that it diminishes the overly-competitive nature often found within the walls of independent schools.

Along with the tone and people that make Lake Ridge so special, we of course also offer a wide variety of interesting experiences both curricular and extracurricular. As part of a challenging curriculum, we have classes such as college level philosophy, psychology and a science class that studies the social and scientific background of a particular country. The students then, in the spring, get to travel to that
very country for in-depth research! Coupled with courses such as these, we also provide opportunities in areas such as playwriting, acting, film production and so forth.

Lake Ridge Academy also maintains an active athletics program. We offer the following sports:

Fall: Golf, Tennis, Volleyball, Soccer
Winter: Basketball (Boys & Girls), Wrestling
Spring: Fast-pitch Softball, Track & Field, Tennis, Baseball
