School Profile

Lake Ridge Academy is an independent, co-educational day school serving grades kindergarten through grade 12. Founded in 1963, Lake Ridge Academy is the only independent private school on Cleveland's west side and educates approximately 425 students with an Upper School (grades 9-12) enrollment of approximately 180.

Lake Ridge Academy is located on an 93-acre campus in North Ridgeville, a suburb 25 miles west of Cleveland and 8 miles south of Lake Erie. Students travel by bus or car from over 35 surrounding communities. All students are college bound; they represent diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds with a multicultural student popluation of 44%.

Socioeconomic diversity is assured by a financial aid program, which assists approximately 70% of the students in grades K-12. The 28 Upper School faculty and administration teach classes ranging from 4 to 18 students in size. Eighty percent hold advanced degrees, with several faculty holding Ph.D.'s.

Lake Ridge Academy is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States and chartered by the State of Ohio as a college preparatory school. In addition, it holds memberships in the National Association of Independent Schools, the Ohio Association of Independent Schools, and the College Board Association.
