Admission

Welcome!

We are Lake Ridge Academy, the leading K-12 private independent school on Cleveland's West Side. We are known for our academic rigor, experiential learning, and small class sizes. Our students are truly known by faculty who create an educational experience that inspires and develops exceptional young people.

If you are exploring school options for your child, or just want to learn more about Lake Ridge, you are in the right place! Please fill out an inquiry form so that we can learn more about you and your family and schedule a time to chat or a tour.

If you have already inquired, or would like to immediately apply, please visit our Parent Portal and create an account to begin the application process.

We can’t wait to meet you!

Admission Process

Want to learn more about Lake Ridge Academy before you apply? Submit an online inquiry to receive additional information, schedule a campus tour, or register for an upcoming event! Please note: you do not have to inquire before you apply! Visit our Parent Portal to create an account and apply now!

Individual Campus Tours

You can virtually tour a few of our campus facilities including our newest building, Kemper Science and Engineering, along with our Fine Arts building, and Rob Hall gymnasium.

To apply, please create an account through our Parent Portal. Once you create an account, you will be able to complete the online application and other steps of our admissions process. Our main enrollment period opens on September 15th, and we recommend you complete your application by November. Our hard deadline is December 13th.

Applications received outside our main enrollment periods will be considered on a space-available basis. Please call or email our admissions team for more information on mid-year transfers and rolling admissions.

In addition to a completed online application, for students in grades 1-11 we also need teacher recommendations and school records, both of which are requested through our Parent Portal. Once these documents are received, we will schedule a shadow day.

If you are interested in applying to kindergarten, please visit our kindergarten page to find more information regarding the application and screening process specific for that grade.

Please note that admissions decisions are made independently of financial aid considerations.

For students entering grade 1, we will schedule a day for your child to come to campus and complete in-person literacy, math, and writing assessments. Students entering grades 2-11 should register for the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). Lake Ridge Academy is one of many ISEE test sites, and our school code is 363857 if students entering grades 5-11 plan to test here. A schedule of all available ISEE test dates, locations, deadlines and registration information is available by visiting the ISEE website.

You can also take the ISEE Online from the comfort of your own home! When searching for available test dates, select "Prometric Test Date" at the "Prometric Testing Center" at the top of the screen and click the green "Register" button. When you are asked if you want to "Register for a Prometric Test Center" or "Register for a ProProctor At Home Test", select the ProProctor AtHome test option, and complete your registration. We recommend that you complete ISEE testing by November.

Admissions decisions for new students will be announced in February. Enrollment contracts are issued and space is reserved on a first-come basis determined by the date stamp on the return of the completed contract and deposit. Waitlisted students will be notified as space becomes available. Please note that admissions decisions are made independently of financial aid considerations.

Admission to Lake Ridge Academy is based on academic and personal qualifications. Lake Ridge Academy admits students of any race, color, sexual orientation, religion, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sexual orientation, religion, national and ethnic origin in administration of our educational policies, admission policies, financial aid programs, and athletic or other school-administered programs.
