Five Students Will Compete in National Scholastic Art Show in NYC

Upper School and Middle School (grades 7 and 8) art students earned an impressive amount of awards at the Lorain County Regional Scholastic Art Exhibition.  Sophie Spellman ’17 received an American Visions Award and her piece was selected as Best in Show. Her work will now head to the national competition judged in New York to determine the regional winner who will receive a cash award.

Four students also received the Golden Key award for their work, with their pieces also moving to the national competition in New York.  In addition, 23 Silver Key awards and 40 Honorable Mentions were given to our students.

Visitors are welcome to view all the award-winning pieces at the Stocker Art Gallery at the Stocker Arts Center at Lorain County Community College.  The exhibition is open through February 19.
