Congratulations to ten of our 7th and 8th grade Middle School students who competed at the Mohican District Science Day held at Ashland University on Saturday, March 25. We had seven projects receive superior ratings, qualifying them to advance to the Ohio State Science Day in Columbus on May 13 and resulting in Lake Ridge Academy being named the "School with the Most Superior Awards".
Many students earned individual awards and scholarships, including: Top Female, 7th grade - Sylvie '22 and Angie '22; Charles River Laboratory Award for Analytical Chemistry - James '22; Charles River Laboratory Award for Medicine and Health and the Ohio Advantage Award - JT '22.
Each year, thousands of Ohio students complete independent research projects. These students present their research at the local and the District level, and the highest-rated projects go on to compete at State Science Day. This event is the high-point of student-based scientific-research and will be held on May 13 at The Ohio State University.
