Congratulations to senior Zoe Belardo for being recently named a National Merit Scholarship Finalist, an achievement bestowed upon only 15,000 graduating seniors in the United States. As a Finalist, Zoe will now be considered to receive a Merit Scholarship, which will be awarded to only 7,500 seniors this spring. Zoe will attend the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) this fall.
The National Merit Scholarship program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarship funds that began in 1955. About 1.5 million juniors entered the program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, from which the top 1% of scorers were name Semifinalists last fall. Finalist were determined by the student’s academic record, participation in school and community activities, evidence of leadership and any other honors or awards received.
We are so proud of Zoe’s academic and extracurricular accomplishments that have earned her this signficant recognition!
