Make a Gift

Ways to Give

Lake Ridge Academy welcomes gifts at any time and operates on a fiscal year between July 1 and June 30. Since the school is a 501 (c)(3) organization (a non-profit), all donors will receive a receipt for each gift that they offer to the school, which may be used for tax purposes. At the end of the calendar year, all donors will also receive a summary giving report that will include all charitable gifts received between January 1 and December 31, which may also be helpful for tax purposes.

Did you know that you may deduct $600 or more even if you don't itemize on your taxes? Learn more.

Giving Options

Gifts to Lake Ridge Academy earn donors a charitable deduction and can also offer payment flexibility, budgeting options, or even financial benefits back to you, the donor. Talk with a development staff member who can help you to find a match between the school’s needs and a gift vehicle that is right for you.

Make a Pledge

If you would like to make a gift to Lake Ridge but want to fulfill your commitment another time, simply email us and let us know your gift intentions. Pledges can be fulfilled over months or years and allow you to be recognized as a participating donor while still making a gift when timing is better for you.

Consider this: Donors who fulfill their commitments over time can often make a larger gift than they thought possible, which allows them to have a much bigger impact on our students.

Recurring Gift

If you would like to earn frequent flyer miles or just want to budget your gift to the school, you can join many donors in setting up a recurring gift.

For just a few dollars per month, your recurring gift can add up to a really important gift by the end of the year!

Consider this: Donors who give less than $100 per year collectively give $8,500 to the school each year. Every gift really does matter!

Future Gifts

A trust or charitable gift annuity, for example, will allow you to have a big impact on an area of the school that is important to you, provide a charitable deduction, and possibly offer an income to you and/or your spouse for life. Contact us to learn more.

Consider this: You may be able to do something really special for Lake Ridge and make a larger gift than you realize while earning a benefit yourself.

Sponsor an Event

The Auction Gala and Golf Outing are two key events for Lake Ridge Academy that provide important resources for our students and teachers. Companies or individuals may sponsor these events, market their business, and earn special recognition and benefits at the events. Contact Brock Dunn to learn more.

How to Give

There are several financial vehicles that can be used to make a gift to Lake Ridge Academy. Contact the Advancement office to ask about a giving opportunity that will help you make a gift that is meaningful to you!

Outright gifts made by check should always be made payable to “Lake Ridge Academy.” If needed, please use the memo section of the check to indicate the designation of your gift. If nothing is indicated, we will use it where your gift is needed most.

Lake Ridge Academy accepts online donations through Google Pay, Apple Pay, Mastercard, Visa, AmEx and Discover.

Donors making a gift with appreciated securities can avoid capital gains tax while still receiving a full charitable deduction.

Donors who are 70½ may direct required IRA distributions to Lake Ridge Academy. While the donor does not earn a charitable deduction for these direct transfers, the distribution can reduce the donor's income tax if the transfer is made directly from a donor's financial institution to Lake Ridge Academy.

Gift cards, vacation home access, new merchandise, and many other kinds of items can be donated to the auction. Your old car or boat can also be given to the school, for which you will receive a charitable donation based on the fair market value of the donated item.

Your personal residence, second home, or vacation home can be used to make a significant gift to the school too, and you still get to live there for as long as you want. By transferring ownership of your primary or vacation residence to Lake Ridge Academy, you can earn a charitable deduction and still retain the rights to the property.

Donors who have fully paid whole life insurance policies that are no longer needed can receive a charitable deduction for the cash value of the policy.

Donors who wish to make a future gift to the school may consider a charitable gift annuity or trust vehicle that will benefit the school and provide the donor with a life-income in retirement or benefit another family member.
