Lake Ridge Academy Introduces Norton Family Scholarship

Lake Ridge Academy is pleased to announce the newly launched Norton Family Endowed Scholarship program to provide support to students with demonstrated financial need, with a preference given to students who live in Lorain County. The Norton Family Scholarship will award $5,000 annually to a student in grades 6-12, and can be combined with the school’s generous need-based tuition assistance program that can reduce tuition up to 60%.

“Lake Ridge Academy is a transformational school experience, where students achieve their full potential in small classes with teachers who mentor and challenge them,” said Head of School Mitch White. “We prepare our students for a changing world where life skills like resiliency, self-advocacy, and collaboration are developed alongside uncompromising academics. The Norton Family Endowed Scholarship program will help us extend the outstanding opportunities that a Lake Ridge Academy education offers.”

The Norton Family Endowed Scholarship program has been initially funded by Ben and Brenda Norton. Ben Norton grew up in Lorain, and both Ben and Brenda have strong ties to the Lorain County community. Their children - Gretchen ‘17, Katie ‘20, and Benjy ‘22 - are graduates of Lake Ridge Academy. The Norton Family Endowed Scholarship is part of a larger gift by the Nortons to support Lake Ridge Academy’s investment in student health and wellness.
