11-year Old Freshman Ranks in the top 1% Nationally on PSAT

Finn Pasatta has a lot in common with many other freshman at Lake Ridge Academy. He enjoys the college prep curriculum, making strong connections with his teachers, and taking advantage of the various clubs offered at the school. The one big difference – he just turned 12 years old.

In October, Finn, along with the other 41 freshman at the school, took the PSAT/NMSQT which is a standard part of the college planning process at the school. At Lake Ridge Academy, freshman take this exam as a first introduction to the SAT and is a chance to practice their test taking skills even if there is much content in the exam that they haven’t learned in school yet.

Finn, who was actually 11 at the time of the exam and had never taken the PSAT prior, earned a 1500 total score out of 1520, missing only one question in the reading portion of the three-part exam. His score landed him in top 1% of the 1.5 million students nationally, a ranking comprised mostly of high school juniors ranging in age from 15 to 17.

Great job, Finn!
