Open Positions

Director of Upper School

Lake Ridge Academy seeks a highly collaborative, dynamic, and committed educator to serve as Director of its Upper School starting in July of 2020. The Director of the Upper School will be responsible for all day-to-day operations for our 9-12 Upper School division, joining the Director of Middle School (6-8) and Director of Lower School (K-5) in leading the academic and student life of the school. The Director of the Upper School will report to the Head of School and will serve on the leadership team. Please view the full job description for a full list of responsibilities and requirements.

Middle School 7th & 8th Grade English Teacher

Lake Ridge Academy is seeking a full-time Middle School English teacher for grades 7 and 8 beginning in the 2020-2021 school year. The instructor will be responsible for designing curriculum and assessment strategies in collaboration with the English department. We welcome applicants who have a strong commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community as well as those with a similar commitment to including global literary works among the course texts. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of successful experience teaching close reading and analytical writing. Upper School English Teacher

Lake Ridge Academy is seeking a full-time high school English instructor for the 2020-2021 school year. As a member of the LRA Upper School English Department, the instructor will be responsible for designing their curriculum for 4-5 sections of high school English Language Arts classes. They will teach 1-2 sections of Foundations of Literature (grade 10) as well as 3-4 sections of upper-level English electives (grades 11-12). We welcome applicants who have a strong commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community as well as those with a similar commitment to including global literary works among the course texts. Candidates should have demonstrated evidence of successful experience teaching writing and complex literary texts. A love for working with students, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to contribute to a collaborative and close-knit teaching environment are a must. Special consideration will be given to candidates who display confidence in teaching diverse literatures written by Black, Latinx, and other minority authors.
