Open Positions

Choral Director

Lake Ridge Academy, an independent K-12 college preparatory school, is seeking a full-time choral director for grades 6-12 beginning in the 2020-2021 school year. The ideal candidate will have a background in choral music education with classroom and conducting experience as well as excellent piano skills. A love of working with students, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to contribute to a collaborative and close-knit teaching environment are a must.

In addition to their choral course-load, the instructor will be involved in the Middle and Upper School musicals that take place both during and after school, be available to students for individual help outside of class as needed, share in the sponsorship of student activities, participate in faculty committees and meetings, serve as an advisor to a group of approximately 10 middle school students, and other duties as determined by the Director of the Middle School. Salary is commensurate with other independent schools in the Midwest and benefits include a generous tuition remission package. Middle and Upper School French Teacher

Lake Ridge Academy is seeking a full-time Upper School and Middle School French teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. As a member of the World Language Department, the teacher will be responsible for teaching a variety of levels of French, from novice/Level 1 up to and potentially including AP French; therefore, candidates must be comfortable designing developmentally-appropriate lessons for students in grades 6-12. We welcome culturally literate applicants who have lived abroad or are very well-traveled, and who have a passion for the French language and francophone cultures. Candidates should have native or near-native fluency and a strong commitment to and love for working with students. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to contribute to a collaborative and close-knit teaching environment are a must. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have experience implementing a Comprehensible Input-based curriculum into their classes. In addition to teaching their classes, the teacher will be assigned other duties as determined by the Directors of the Upper and Middle Schools. The teacher can expect to share in the sponsorship of student activities, be available to students for individual help outside of class as needed, participate in faculty committees and meetings, serve as a mentor to a group of 8-10 students ranging from grades 9-12, and lead (or co-lead) the annual 8th grade class trip to Quebec. Salary is commensurate with other independent schools in the Midwest and benefits include a generous tuition remission package.

Assistant Director of Alumi Relations and Annual Giving

The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving oversees of the Annual Fund and a robust alumni reunion program in support of goals to reconnect alumni to the school, encourage increased giving, and identify volunteer and donor leadership. As one of three Alumni Relations and Development team members, the candidate can expect to assist with other non-reunion projects on a regular basis that may include event planning, event staffing, direct mail appeals, gift processing and other development work.

The position requires a sophisticated and comprehensive understanding of event planning, volunteer and donor management, annual giving best practices, and major gift principles resulting from 2-3 years or more of related experience preferably in education. The candidate must demonstrate high degrees of professionalism, integrity, self-motivation, collegiality and organization. Strong communication skills, including strong listening skills, are essential. Experience working with a Customer Relationship Database (CRM) such as Raiser’s Edge, Salsa, etc., Microsoft Office products (especially Excel and Word), Google (G Suite) collaboration tools, Adobe Creative suite is required.
