We are Lake Ridge Academy, the West Side’s leading K-12 private independent school. We are known for our academic rigor, experiential learning, and small class sizes. Our students are truly known by faculty, and in this environment inspired education develops exceptional young people.
Lake Ridge is excited to announce that school will reopen in-person starting August 21 with all of our students joining us daily for classes. There is still time to enroll for the 2020-2021 school year, and I encourage all prospective families to apply in July to ensure ample time to complete the admission process which is detailed below.
I look forward to speaking with you about the opportunities that await your child!
All the best,
Director of Enrollment Management

Shadow Days are now Preview Days
Though shadow days are a wonderful opportunity for your student to truly feel what it's like to attend Lake Ridge Academy, we must now protect the safety of our prospective students and families. As a result, we have modified our shadow days to be preview days.
For Lower School students (grades 1-5), individual virtual meetings will be made for the student to meet with the grade-level teacher to interact and complete testing. Parents can also meet virtually with Katherine Hatcher, the Lower School Director, to discuss the curriculum at length.
For Middle School students (grades 6-8), the Preview Day will involve a virtual student interview with members of the Middle School Admissions Committee, and a virtual parent meeting with Tim Unger, the Middle School Director, to discuss the curriculum at length. Middle School students will also be connected to a current Lake Ridge student in their grade so they can discuss the Lake Ridge experience from someone who knows it best!
For Upper School students (grades 9-12), the Preview Day will involve a virtual student interview with members of the Upper School Admissions Committee, in addition to virtual interactions with faculty in the student’s area of interest. Upper School students will also be connected to a current Lake Ridge student in their grade so they can discuss the Lake Ridge experience from someone who knows it best!
Once the application process is completed and reviewed by our Admission Committee, families are notified of the committee's decision or are notified that more information is needed before a decision can be reached. Enrollment contracts are issued and space is reserved on a first-come basis determined by the date stamp on the return of the completed contract and deposit. Waitlisted students will be notified as space becomes available.
Admission to Lake Ridge Academy is based on academic and personal qualifications.
