Senior Named a United States Presidential Scholar Candidate

Lake Ridge congratulates Connie Tian '20, who has been named a United States Presidential Scholar Candidate. Connie is one of only 3,900 candidates selected for the United States Presidential Scholar Program which is overseen by the United States Department of Education and the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars. The program recognizes our nation’s most distinguished graduating seniors for their accomplishments in academic success, leadership, and service to school and community.

Connie will continue to the next stage of the formal U.S. Presidential Scholar finalist selection process, of which only 141 are named in May. All finalists are invited to attend a White House-sponsored medallion presentation ceremony in June.
