International Program

Lake Ridge Academy values offering a culturally rich learning experience for all of our students. Our International Program helps support our mission by admitting students from other countries to be part of our school community. International students are invited to join us for a semester, one year, or multiple years through graduation, provided students meet all graduation requirements.

The majority of our international students come to Lake Ridge for Upper School (grades 9-12), however, we do occasionally accept students for Middle School (grades 7-8). Families are attracted to Lake Ridge Academy's rigorous college preparatory academic program with the flexibility to modify the curriculum for first-year international students. We also offer academic courses designed for international students to increase their English fluency and facilitate their transition into college preparatory curriculum. Lake Ridge Academy will issue an I-20 for F-1 Visas to international students who have a strong command of English as a Second Language and who have demonstrated top academic performance in their home schools.

Academic progress is monitored by an International Coordinator and Advisor. Tutoring services with a trained ESL teacher are available during the school day. Parents can stay updated on their student's academic progress via internet access to grades and assignments through Plus Portals.

Integrating into the culture of our school and country is very important for our international students and our school community. To assist with this, each international student receives home-stay living accommodations. Our school has a wide range of extra-curricular student clubs and organizations that international students can join to further establish unique experiences and friendships.

College Planning

100% of our graduates are accepted into four-year colleges in the United States. Lake Ridge Academy's Director of College Counseling is experienced in placing international students in American colleges and works individually with each international student and family to guide them through the college admission process. Additionally, preparation courses for the SAT (the college placement exam) are available for an additional charge.
