PE assistant (part-time)
Lake Ridge Academy is seeking a Physical Education Assistant for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a Part-time position. As a member of the LRA PE Department, the instructor will be responsible for assisting in six sections of lower/middle school PE classes.
Job Duties:
- Assist in teaching multiple sections of K-5 and possibly 6-8 physical education.
- Perform extra-curricular duties as required.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Minimum high school diploma; some college coursework preferred. College or graduate students (or those meeting these requirements) who are passionate about working with children are encouraged to apply.
- Interest in pursuing a career in physical education is desirable.
- A love for working with students, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to contribute to a collaborative and close-knit teaching environment are a must.
- Possess a strong commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community, as well as those with a similar commitment to ongoing professional development in pedagogy, curriculum development, and subject matter.
- Demonstrate evidence of successful experience working with lower school and middle school students, ideally in a PE, gym, or coaching environment.
Salary is commensurate with other independent schools in the Midwest, and benefits may include a generous tuition remission package.
