Head Varsity Golf Coach
Lake Ridge Academy is seeking a Head Varsity Golf Coach for the 2026/2027 school year.
The Head Varsity Golf Coach is responsible for leading, developing, and managing all aspects of the varsity golf program. This includes student-athlete development, program culture, competition preparation, and alignment with the school’s academic and character standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership
- Serve as the leader of the varsity golf program and set the vision and culture
- Promote sportsmanship, integrity, and respect for the game
- Align program goals with the school’s mission and athletic department philosophy
Coaching & Player Development
- Plan and conduct effective practices focused on fundamentals, strategy, and course management
- Develop individual improvement plans for student-athletes
- Teach rules, etiquette, and mental aspects of golf
- Prepare athletes for match and tournament competition
Competition Management
- Organize lineups, match strategy, and substitutions
- Coach during matches and tournaments
- Ensure compliance with league and state rules
- Scout opponents and prepare athletes accordingly
Program Administration
- Coordinate schedules, transportation, and facility use
- Maintain inventory and care of equipment
- Communicate with the athletic director regarding program needs and updates
- Track scores, statistics, and athlete progress
Student-Athlete Support
- Monitor academic progress and eligibility of players
- Serve as a mentor and positive role model
- Support college recruitment opportunities when appropriate
Communication
- Maintain clear communication with players, parents, and administration
- Promote the program through school and community engagement
- Organize team meetings and preseason parent meetings
Qualifications
- Prior golf coaching or competitive playing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of golf rules, techniques, and strategy
- Ability to teach and motivate student-athletes of varying skill levels
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must meet all school, league, and state coaching requirements

Time Commitment
- Daily practices during the season
- Matches and tournaments (including some evenings/weekends)

Salary is commensurate with other independent schools in the Midwest.
